> Ferragamo opening men's only boutique, J. Crew to follow: With men's shopping a rare bright spot in the current economic climate, the Italian style luxe brand is out in front of the trend. Designed as a pseudo-bar/gathering place for discerning male shoppers from 20 to 40 years old, the store ignores the tried and tested "purse and pumps" format of most locations and opts for a more clubby vibe.

Though the Elves helped put Project Runway on the map, they won't be making the leap to Lifetime with Tim and Heidi -- they inked a mega-deal with NBC.

For Apple junkies, today should feel like Christmas: The new iPhone 3G goes on sale! People have lined up overnight for their chance to get their hands on the new handset that promises to revolutionize smart phones once again—at least until Google unleashes Android. Unfortunately, many iPhone users were left feeling like they were dumped on Valentine's Day. In addition to the crazy long lines at AT&T and Apple retail stores to get the second-gen phone, many people haven't been able to activate their new favorite gadget because Apple's activation servers have crashed under the overwhelming demand.
Even people using the first-generation phones are feeling the sting. When I woke up today, I was excited to sign up for MobileMe and download the new iPhone software that promised to let me use the new App Store. Unfortunately, once I upgraded the software, my phone crashed. So, after trying to restore the phone, it couldn't log onto the iTunes store to activate the new software. So, I'm at work, with an expensive brick with no access to my music, calendars or contacts. I hope I my meeting with the Pope wasn't scheduled for today!
Rumor has it that the servers should be back up and running in a few hours. Your Stylelist's advice? Don't upgrade your software today. Wait until the rush calms a bit.
Thanks, Apple!

In the gadget world, size does matter, but like a runway model, slimmer is better!
Apple daddy Steve Jobs announced the super-sleek MacBook Air—the anorexic slim MacBook that is only .76" thick at its widest point and an impossibly thin .16" at its narrowest. Also included is a 13.3" screen, 80gig hard drive, wifi, 2gig memory, 1.6ghz or 1.8ghz Intel Core2Duo processor The Air is the thinnest notebook available on the market and it can even slip into a large envelope for some James Bond-esque covert operations.
Apple has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation and it seems that the next wave of laptops won't require a CD or DVD drive because we are quickly becoming a download-only culture—of course, you can buy an add-on external CD player if you need. Apple was one of the first—if not the first—to sell laptops without floppy disk drives. But the question remains: Without a CD drive, how would we get our next OSX upgrade?

Perhaps the folks at Apple missed the spotlight after the iPhone hype died down, but on the first day of Fashion Week, the company announced some big news!
The iPod got a massive makeover. If you missed out on iPhone mania because you are locked into your mobile plan until 2010, here's your chance to get a piece of the action.
Taking a page from the iPhone, the new iPod Touch uses the same touchscreen technology to browse music, photos and video. It offers a 3.5" widescreen display, wi-fi capabilities and measures just 8mm thin. With wi-fi comes the Safari internet browser, YouTube videos, Google Search, Yahoo! oneSearch, and the ability to wirelessly download music from the iTunes Store. Basically, it does just much of what you can do on an iPhone, just without any phone capabilities.
Also announced today, Apple signed an exclusive agreement with Starbucks Coffee Company to allow people to access the iTunes Store at no charge over the company's wi-fi system. When entering the store, the iPod touch will recognize the store's wi-fi system and tell you which song is playing and allow you to buy and download it immediately from iTunes.
That's not all! If you've been pinching your pennies for the iPhone,
Apple is cutting the price of the 8 gigabyte model by $200 for the
holidays. They are also phasing out the 4 gigabyte model.

Apple once again proves that your computer can be a stylish work of art that you won't mind showing off.
Last week, Apple debuted the latest iMac and its chic overhaul. The latest generation underwent a rigorous swanlike transformation and is now slimmer than ever with scratch-resistant glass, professional grade aluminum case, a cheaper sticker price—and it's recyclable. This new model is the best looking iMac yet and would make a stylish addition to any home or office.
But what about the ad campaign? Is the slogan for Apple's new iMac pro-eating disorder? Emblazoned across Apple.com, it reades: "You can't be too thin. Or too powerful." In our overly body conscious society, is Apple crossing a line? Or is it just hinting that its next big product will be an easy-to-use and chic calorie counter? Or Steve Jobs is penning a diet manual called "The Apple Diet?"
Here are the geeky details on the iMac for Apple-philes:
It is available with a 20" or 24" LCD screen 2.0ghz or 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processors. 1GB SDRAM
250-320GB Hard Drive
8x Super Drive (Read and Write CD and DVD with double-layer support) Airport Extreme Wireless Card Built-in iSight Camera Bluetooth Built-in speakers Redesigned keyboard Mighty Mouse

The fine folks at Louis Vuitton are just as obsessed with the iPhone as the rest of us (okay, most of us?). To get a bite of Apple's precious new gadget, the legendary French luxury brand plans to debut a collection of chic, iPhone cases next week—just two and a half weeks after the iPhone's heralded debut.
The cases will be available in a variety of colors and fabrics including LV monogram canvas, leather and alligator and will cost $225 to $1,120. (Red Alligator? Yes, please!)
This is not Louis Vuitton's first foray into designing cases for Apple products. The company has been designing monogram iPod cases since 2004, so it's no surprise that they've decided to dress up the iPhone in Vuitton style. And since Apple-obsessed geeks fans waited hours in line and forked over $500 to $600 to get their hands on the gadget, they'll probably want to protect the phone with something that isn't meant for mere mortals and made of cheap plastic.
Get yours starting July 16th (that's next week!), available exclusively at Louis Vuitton's New York City flagship store until October, when the cases will be available nationwide.

If you've been living under a rock for, say, the last six months, you already know that Apple's much anticipated foray into the cell phone market, officially launches today at 6pm. The Apple marketing maelstrom has reached category 5 force and folks are lining up at Apple and AT&T stores around the country in a frenzy to be the first on their block to get their hands on the phone that promises to change the way you use your mobile phone.
Apple's iPhone offers faulous features like a touch screen interface, a built-in iPod, Google Maps, a real web browser (instead of those crappy ones that relegate your mobile browsing experience to the equivalent of DOS), and my favorite...visual voicemail. If you don't know visual voicemail, imagine not having to sit through 4 or 5 messages to listen to the one you want to hear. You just choose the message that you want to hear and Presto! It starts playing.
It goes without saying that this phone is the Summer Crave. In fact, I will personally crave the phone until it becomes available on other networks (hopefully it will have any first-generation bugs worked out by then). For the first two years (rumor has it. don't quote me), only AT&T mobile customers can use the phone.
The pricing plans are quite affordable, though the iPhone's price tag is not so friendly ($499 for 4GB model and $599 for 8GB). According to Apple's website: "Individual plans are priced at $59.99 for 450
minutes, $79.99 for 900 minutes and $99.99 for 1,350 minutes. All plans
include unlimited data (email and web), Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text
messages, roll over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile and a
one-time activation fee of $36."
Apple iPhone, $499 for 4GB, $599 for 8GB.
