Smell This: Wolfgang Joop; dVb Drama Contiues!; Hedi Slimane to Design His Own Line?; Thom Browne's Ankles Draw Stares; Garrett Neff Will Show You His Calvin's ; The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Nominees

After a seven year hiatus from the scent business, Wolfgang Joop announced he will release a new fragrance in the fall.  It will have notes of coriander, vetiver, sandalwood, cinnamon, and patchouli, meaning you'll smell minty fresh.  [WWD]

They're in, they're out, they're in, and now, officially, they're out.  L.A. boutique Kitson finally got their story straight and said they are dropping Victoria Beckham's men's denim line from dVd because of poor demand.  In related news, they are also dropping Lauren Conrad's line as well, but, honestly, who didn't see that coming? [The Cut]

Hedi Slimane is mulling over his fashion comeback and it could involve--wait, are you ready?--his own menswear line!  I think I just peed a little...[The Cut] via [WWD]

Thom Browne apparently ruffled some conservative feathers when he wore his signature highwater pants to a reception at the White House hosted by Laura Bush for the winners of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Awards.  One witness said he drew "more than a few stares," especially from guardsman. It's always fun to watch the righties squirm, isn't it? [WWD]

Perma-hottie Garrett Neff is starring in Calvin Klein's new underwear campaign.  Though David Beckham he isn't, he's still just delicious. [British Vogue]

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Nominees were announced yesterday, and among the ten were a few menswear designers: Richard Chai; Alejandro Ingelmo; John Patrick of Organic; and Swaim and Christina Hutson of Obedient Sons.  Remember those names, boys.  [Material Interest]

Karl Lagerfeld Designs Dubai; A New Posterboy for Armani Already?; Gossip Girl Gossip: Ed Westwick To Design His Own Line?; Leo DiCaprio Tells Time for Charity; The Linda Farrow and Yohji Yamamoto Collaboration

75931149 Photo: Getty Images

Karl Lagerfeld is designing a few limited edition homes for Isla Moda, a fashion inspired (and seemingly fashion only) community under construction in Dubai.    [The Cut]

It seems like the Armani underwear ads with Mr. Becks have just reached their boiling point, but the label has already announced their new model for the Fall 08 ads.  His name is Takeshi Kaneshiro, and he is oh so delicious--and also the first Asian model for a major Armani ad campaign.  Hooray for diversity! [Fashionista]

Yes, everyone--another celebrity fashion line.  This time from Gossip Girl cast member Ed Westwick, who plays conniving and annoyingly over-the-top Chuck.  He says he wants to add his "two cents" to the label he wore for his Vanity Fair shoot, which would imply either Thom Browne or Jack Spade.  While we are more intrigued (and way excited) about the rumors that he and Chace Crawford (Nate) are real life lovers, we still have much higher hopes for his collaboration than Perez Hilton for Hot Topic.  Bleh. [Fashionista

Leonardo DiCaprio is working with his favorite watch designer, Jaeger-LeCoultre, to design time pieces for the Time to Care program, as well as develop a couple more to benefit the Leonardo DiCaprio Fund at the California Community Foundation. The timepieces will debut in fall 2008, and all proceeds from the sales will directly benefit the cause.  I'm moved by his initiative, but being that they retail for $300,000-400,000, I'm not feeling so charitable. [Fashion Week Daily]

Known and respected since the 70s, Linda Farrow sunglasses are known for a dark intense aesthetic that continues to peak the interest of the industry and consumers.  Now, the label is set to collaborate with Yohji Yomamoto in a pairing that is as exciting as it is ambiguous. [Refinery 29]

A.P.C Hand Me Downs; No Jail Time for Naomi (we're not surprised); NYC Still on Top; Indonesians Embrace "Trashion;" Acne Trends from Sweden Fashion Week

81707743

Sometimes brand new jeans are just too stiff, and those "vintage" type jeans are just too, well, vintage.  Leave it to denim superstars A.P.C. to develop a middle man.  Newly introduced are their Butler Worn Out series of denim, which are pairs of jeans worn exactly one time before being sold to consumers. [Material Interest

Naomi Campbell will not be going to prison for her violent outburst on a British Airways flight.  Instead she just lands a spread in Vogue Italia.  [WWD] and [Fashionista]

New York City was named, for the fourth year in a row, the best fashion city in the world according to a survey by a U.S.-based language use group.  Like, duh. [tmtbox]

Those ever resourceful Indonesians are using leftover, discarded and found materials to make trendy and affordable garments in a new movement called "trashion."  The bag lady on my corner who drinks bleach told me "homeless-chic" would be all the rage this season.  [MSNBC]

I noted last week that Stockholm was embarking on their annual fashion week as well; and, though noticeably overshadowed by the big boys in Milan and Paris, Acne  S/S 09 showed some muscle in Sweden.  Maybe next year they'll move to the majors? [Material Interest]

Paris Fashion Week Roundup; New Trend from Paris: Man Leggings!; Designer Deejays; Kanye's Mystery Man? And a Shoe Line?!; Brooks and Brown Together Forever

81696173

Photo: Getty Images

The men's shows in Paris ended yesterday and we're still in a fashion flurry.  Word on the rue is that Galliano's show was not to be missed...for whatever reason. [The Cut]

Photographer Nick Night got out his address book to hit up some of his fabulous designer friends for their "talents" in the deejay booth.  He'll feature some big names (Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Naomi Campbell among others) to spin live on his website, Showstudio.com, starting July 9th.  The thought of Naomi Campbell with an EP in her hand is a scary thought.  Heads could literally roll. [WWD]

Prada had skirts for men last Spring; this season we've already seen man clutches and man wedges; and now, the latest feminine trend to show in Europe? Man leggings.  And I always thought menswear set the trends for womenswear.  Lindsey Lohan must be so excited. [The Cut]

Kanye West was seen around Paris with a mystery fashion friend in tow.  Who could he be?  A female presence has been noticeably absent in Kanye's life, and if the boy finally did finally pick up the bat for the other team, let's hope it's not this guy. [The Cut]

Speaking of Mr. West, he's now reportedly working on his own shoe line with Louis Vuitton, which will be followed by a womenswear line this fall.  Kanye, baby, we're all waiting for you outside that big fashion closet you so resiliently reside in. [Fashionista]

Thom Browne and Brooks Brothers have extended their deal to keep Mr. Browne on as a guest designer until at least 2011 for the Brooks Brothers Black Fleece collection.  He's also expected to reveal plans for a freestanding Black Fleece store in NYC's Greenwich Village.  Wall Streeters now have three more years to look a little bit cooler. Vivienne Westwood Paunches Up The Runway; Smell This: Zirh Ikon; Donatella Versace's Muse: Barrack Obama; Naomi Does Menswear; Rag & Bone Gets Control; The Lates Trends from Milan

81662700 Photo: Getty Images

We love Milan fashion week for the onslaught of gorgeous male models who strut the runway in amazing clothes (and sometimes barely any clothes at all), but Vivienne Westwood turned the stereotypical male model on its head when she sent a balding, middle-aged, beefy, daddy stomping down the catwalk (see photo).  Seriously, I think this guy is my plumber.  [The Cut]

Men's grooming brand Zirh is looking to go from cult classic to household name with the launch of their first fragrance, Ikon.  With a name like that, someone sure has high hopes for themselves. [WWD]

U.S. politics continue their sweep of the world as Donatella Versace dedicates her Spring 09' men's line to Barrack Obama, saying her collection is for "a relaxed man who doesn't need to flex muscles to show he has power." But Miss Versace sure has to flex her marginal world knowledge to show she's not a complete moron. [The Canadian Press]

Naomi Campbell, fresh off her trial for that little incident at Heathrow, walked in Dolce & Gabbana's sleepwear inspired men's Spring 09' runway show.  Nice to see the boys at D&G making an appeal to the transgendered/sexual community. [British Vogue]

Rag & Bone have teased a holiday collection to debut in October that is inspired by the Ian Curtis biopic, Control.  Soon thereafter, they've promised a Manhattan retail location to display looks that delve deeper into the late-seventies and early-eighties U.K. music scene. "Mods, punks, rude boys, suedeheads—they all took their looks very seriously," says codesigner Marcus Wainwright.  And we will also be taking their looks very seriously. [Material Interest]

The most, er, notable? trends for Spring 09 from Milan?  Pajamas and, yes, cinched waists.  Androgyny continues. [Fashionista (2)]

Viktor & Rolf Retrospective Scents; No Love for Perez; Stuart Vevers to Debut Loewe Mens; Dark Circle Remedies; Broadway Dancer Turned Designer; How to Get a Photo with Karl Lagerfeld

55944266 Not content with creating a book to commemorate their retrsopective at the Barbican Art Gallery in London, Viktor & Rolf (pictured) have created limited-edition fragrances of Antidote and Flowerbomb. While the fragrances are essentially the same, the bottles are numbered and signed. Only 1,000 bottles of Antidote, the V&R's men's fragrance will be available and sell for $116. [FWD]

Here's a shocker: Nobody wants to buy Perez Hilton's Hot Topic clothes. At a launch event at a Los Angeles store, a Hot Topic employee reports, seven people showed up to meet the celebrity blogger.  [The Cut]

Stuart Vevers will debut his men's collection for Loewe in Paris during Fashion Week later this month. Vevers, previous designed for Mulberry and his women's collection for Loewe received rave reviews last March. This oughta be good!  [FWD]

Girl, you look tired! If you can't curb the weekend benders, you had better get your hands on some high-tech eye cream to cover those dark circles! [NY Times]

What Broadway dancers do once they are too old to dance...at age 24. Those who can't dance design! One Cry-Baby dancer plans to trade his high kicks in for a needle and thread in true Project Runway style. He's already designing dresses for the Tony Awards between performances. He could very well be the gayest man alive...and that's fabulous! [NY Times]

How to get Karl Lagerfeld's attention and snap a photo with him. Here's a hint: Don't bring a fan. [The Cut]

YSL Remembered; Kiehl's New Age Sunscreen; Father's Day Gifts; Down for Thom Browne?

81033350 Photo: Getty Images

The biggest names in fashion speak out on the man, the legend, Yves Saint Laurent. [The Cut]

Kiehl's new line of sunscreens are so advanced they not only block UV rays, but they actually deactivate them.  A healthy glow without fear of looking like a leather bag 20 years down the road? Sold. [British Vogue]

Dad may still be asking "Sure your still gay?" every time you come home, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be pampered on quickly-approaching Father's Day.  Here are some suitable gifts for your old man...or maybe for you if you're still bitter. [The Cut]

He is a darling of the fashion world, he was just nominated for Menswear Designer of the Year at the CFDAs, and his New York fashion shows are harder to get into than his extremely fitted clothes, but is all actually well down at the Thom Browne (pictured) show room? [Page Six]

Hedi Slimane's Protoge; Elise Øverland Does Menswear?; The Truth of Anti-Aging Creams; Naomi Campbell: Busted!; Would You Carry a Woman's Purse; Fashion Meets Video Games

74968200

Photo: Getty Images

15-year old Greenwich village musician Hayes Peebles (hehe, Peebles) has recently become the apple of Hedi Slimane's eye, who shot him recently for V Magazine.  We dare say Slimane can do no wrong, but let's hope this crush doesn't extend beyond the boys musical talent. [The Cut]

At her womenswear presentation last night, Elise Øverland hinted that she might make a foray into menswear.  A support petition is being drafted as we speak. [Fashionista]

Having been scoffed at for using moisturizers and anti-aging creams since the tender age of 14, I know turn those scoffs in your direction, skeptical naysayers.  Studies now prove that all that cream actually works!  No wonder I can still bag those college boys. [Cosmetic Designs]

Naomi Campbell was charged with assault for her little tiff at Heathrow airport.  She could face up to 6 months in jail and $10,000 in fines.  Something tells me she would do pretty well in a prison fight. [The Cut via WWD]

Though I wouldn't say this is an issue for most readers of this blog, but, would you carry a woman's purse if it had just the right amount of masculine appeal? [Fashionista]

Leave it to always-saavy France to have the first magazine that fuses fashion with video games.  Will this finally convince my avid-gamer brother to buy a shirt that actually fits him, or just a decent pair of pants?  Honestly...  [Towleroad]

Media Gossip! Michael Macko Heads to Details

80925446 Photo: Getty Images

For all of you boys who love your fashion magazine gossip, here's the news that has the magazine and fashion worlds buzzing!

Michael Macko (pictured, left), VP of fashion public relations for menswear at Saks Fifth Avenue, jumped ship to swim across the narrowing divide between advertising and editorial. After nearly 12 years at Saks, Macko—who some have affectionately referred to as the Simon Doonan of Saks—has signed on with Details magazine as Fashion Director. In his new role, he'll oversee all of the magazine's fashion coverage.

Macko isn't the first fashion PR titan to cross over. Just two years ago, Ted Stafford left Calvin Klein to serve as the European Market Director at GQ.

So what could this mean for Details? Will the magazine's fashion coverage shift into something more mass market? reach for an older demographic? look less gay? Only time will tell!

Tom v. Thom; Patricia Fields Dresses the Masses; Marc Jacobs: Designer; Chloë Sevigny does Menswear; What the Soccer Players Wear

80941731 Photo: Getty Images

When it comes to the big T's of fashion, Tom and Thom (Ford and Browne respectively), we love them both for the two types of masculine man they try to dress, though TF's cheekbones and perky butt give him a slight edge. But what's the real inspiration behind their style? [NY Times]

Admit it: you've spent countless hours watching Sex & The City wishing that you could dress yourself in the same fabulously offbeat way Carrie does, only with your own masculine touch (or maybe not). Well, Patricia Field--the show's stylist--is going to make it one step easier for you with her own line at Marks & Spencer. [British Vogue]

We and every other media outlet talks about everything Marc Jacobs is except the one thing he really is--a designer.  While speaking with students at Central Saint Martins school in London, he gave a few poignant nuggets on his life at Louis Vuitton and about starting his own label.  OK, but who is he sleeping with again? [The Cut]

We were less than impressed (like, way less) with Chloë Sevigny's "collaboration" with Opening Ceremony, so we are readying our guards for her new line of menswear, that will also be available for women but in smaller sizes.  If Chloë had a doll it would be called Business Saavy Sevigny. [Haute Concept]

Whether you were watching the UEFA Championship between Manchester United and Chelsea yesterday for the actual game or just for those bulging soccer legs, you may have noticed during press junkets that those boys looked rather dapper in their pre-game suits.  Hot men and hot fashion--what a perfect afternoon! Bluefly "Tailored" for Men; Marc Jacobs the next Andy Warhol?; Gen Arts Who's Who; White Shoes for Summer

80999274 Photo: Getty Images

Not that anyone really cared that Bluefly was a unisex website, but it's still nice to see the launch of The Tailor, a site outfitted specifically for us dapper men who still love a bargain on a good suit.  [The Cut]

Despite his party lifestyle, his non-stop art collaborations, his bed-hopping, and his self-obsession, Marc Jacobs claims he is not, in fact, the next Andy Warhol.  Interview magazine begs to differ (and I might too).  [WWD]

Speaking of MJ's wishy-washy sex life, it seems he's back with Jason Preston...for now. [Queerty]

Tonight is the GenArt's 10th Anniversary Styles Fashion and Awards show (sponsored by Botox no less), which will promise to feature a number of worthy up-and-coming designers, including Hyden Yoo.  Considering he started his line with $50,000 he won on Fear Factor after sucking a goat's teat (all in a days work, right?) I think he deserves a shot. [Material Interest]

Marc Jacobs the next Donald Trump?; Drag Queens Get a Reality Show; Jessica Stam is not a DJ; Cannes Can Kick Off

78198728 Photo: Getty Images

Though his name mostly pops up in reference to his bedmates, his ceaseless flaunting of his body or—somtimes—his clothing, could you ever imagine hearing Marc Jacobs pared with real estate mogul?  Yup, #63 to be exact on the The 100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate. [The Cut via NYO

Up to this point, all the drag queens could get on TV was a one-time America's Next Top Model-esque competition on The Tyra Banks show.  Not that we don't appreciate her effort, but RuPaul (pictured) is poised to out do her with Drag Race, which hopes to find "America's next superstar drag queen." [The Hollywood Reporter]

As we reported last week, Jessica Stam was set to DJ at the Down to Earth party last night.  It turns our words were twisted and she was only attending the party with her DJ friends—who spun the party—in tow.  Now that's music to our ears. [Fashion Week Daily]

Everyone (designers, stars, paparazzi, your Stylelist...wait, no) is off to the French Riviera this week for the Cannes Film Festival.  Eyes are peeled for what's hot on the screen, who's going to be seen, and, most importantly, who they'll be seen in. [WWD]

Agyness Deyn keeps rocking; The Project Runway/Nina Garcia saga continues; Josh Harnett hems Armani; Dov Charney - Retailer of the Year; 15 Spring Bags for Guys; Posh and Her Gaggle of Gays

79959844 Photo: Getty Images

After her cute but nonetheless paltry collaboration with Five O'Clock Heroes on the song "Who," Agyness Deyn is now commanding the spotlight in her own newly formed band with friends Alanna Materson and Jackson Pollis.  This ball is rolling perhaps a little too fast. [British Vogue]

We're all admittedly a little tired of the hoopla going on between Nina Garcia and Project Runway, but, alas, it all readily determines the existence and survival of the greatest reality show on television.  Turns out negotiations are still churning, and ELLE is putting up a bit of a fight with Marie Claire for sponsorship.  En garde! [WWD]

Just announced: Josh Harnett will be the face of the new Armani men's fragrance Emporio Armani Diamonds for Men.  Good to see he is getting some work these days. [Fashionista

Dov Charney, Creative Director and entrepreneur of pseudo-pornographic obsessed label American Apparel, was just named Retailer of the Year.  Considering the guy looks like the type who would roll up in a converter van and ask you to film a few tasteful scenes in the back, it's surprising the award has previously gone to the likes of Calvin Klein and Oscar de la Renta. As Louis Vuitton continues to dabble in all things Eastern, they are now set to release MP3 audio walking guides for three major Chinese cities in conjunction with the start of the Olympic games in Beijing.  Murakami might get his feelings hurt. [WWD]

Known far and wide for his work as creative director at Esquire (his stuff is showing at the MoMA for Christ's sake), George Lois is now taking his penchant for design to denim with the label My 3D Fit, which claims a better fit due to its double seamed side panel versus the traditional single seam.  I mean, the guy did help launch Coca-Cola apparel back in the 80s, that bodes well...right? Nina Garcia's New Gig; D&G's New Fragrance; Flower Power for Men; Perez Hilton for Hot Topic; Valentino Premiere's at Cannes

80999223 Photo: Getty Images

Though she was recently seen exiting Hearst Tower leading many to speculate Nina Garcia was in talks to take a position at Harper's Bazaar, sources now say Garcia is all but hired in a major position at Marie Claire with the rumored ousting of fashion director, Tracey Taylor. [Fashion Week Daily]

Having known for months that Matthew McConaughey would be the face of the Dolce & Gabanna's new fragrance, The One for Men, we've been eager to know what was in store for our good ol' olfactory sense.  Well, the new scent has been revealed and it smells exactly how you would think McConaughey would—but then again, McConaughey's own eau du B.O. doesn't have a great reputation. [Now Smell This]

We've been wanting to don a huge blooming flower on our shoulder ever since season 2 of Sex and the City when Carrie Bradshaw so brazenly floralized every outfit she owned.  Our gut told us it wasn't quite the time for such a move, but, praise be to Prada, GQ (albeit the British version) gives us the green light. [The Cut]

Hot on the tail of Karl Lagerfeld and his fashion documentary Lagerfeld Confidential, Valentino Garavani is set to premiere his own in depth feature at the Cannes Film Festival entitled Valentino: The Last Emperor.  Though it sounds promising, there is one thing Lagerfeld will always have over Valentino--the bulge. Jerry Kaye at Dr. Marten; Hedi Slimane Denies Diesel; The New Guide to Going Gray; Kanye West Eyewear; Agyness Deyn Sings, Jessican Stam Spins; Remember PF Flyers?

80841457

Jerry Kaye, former creative director at Perry Ellis, is now taking his talents to Dr. Marten.  God, I remember when yellow stitched Doc Marten boots were the only stamp of cool. I basically bitched slapped my mother until she bought me, like, 8 pairs.  Let's hope Kaye's plans to expand into ready-to-wear revive my violent passion for the brand. [Fashionista]

Though somewhat substantiated rumors were flying that Hedi Slimane was in talks to oversee Diesel's new Red Collection, the word on the runway is that, after a reported meeting between Slimane and Renzo Rosso, a deal has yet to be made--and may never be made. [WWD]

Out.com's very own Nick Burns sheds light on new techniques, processes and information in the middle-aged battle against gray hair.  I see him around the office and I think he might be losing the battle... (joking my dear) [NY Times]

Kanye West is always looking for another project to slap his name on to further establish himself as the master of, well, everything. So, it's no surprise that he has chosen cult Australian denim brand Ksubi to collaborate with his own label, Pastelle, to launch a line of eye wear.  [British Vogue]

OK, we can tolerate Agyness Deyn's foray into music with her marginal collaboration with Five O'Clock horses, but Jessica Stam as a DJ?  Tyra Banks goes off and gets a talk show and now every model out there thinks they are entitled to flaunt their "talents."  Save it for the Apollo, girls. Summer Shades! Surface 2 Air is Back! Dillon and Co. Keeps it Simple; Marc Jacobs is Sleeping with Whom?

80999647

Summer is upon us, meaning we all need a pair of sexy shades.  How else can we shamelessly ogle shirtless hotties in the park? Here's how to get the right pair. [Times Online UK]

Surface 2 Air, the quintessential mod French label, sunk hearts worldwide when it closed it's flagship on Rue de l'Arbre Sec in Paris.  Luckily they've reopened a new shop in the Marais, and all is well again.  We know you can only get to Paris, like, once a year for Fashion Week or whatever, so if you're itching to have these duds, they're also available online. [Material Interest]

It was just announced that this fall the new menswear brand Dillon and co., a collaboration from Cobi Levy (of Tyler Speed fame) and Miguel Enamorado (a fashion editor vet of Esquire), will hit Barneys (where else?).  It's your typical fashionable male line complete with separates, suits and accessories, except without all the high-fashion flare that you try to pull off until you realize you don't really look like Chad White no matter how hard you try. The Met Costume Institute Benefit; ELLE Out, Marie Claire In? Songstress Agyness Deyn; Donatella Denies H&M; SJP talks Sex

As reported yesterday, The Metropolitan Museum was prepping for the onslaught of glitterati that would descend upon the Costume Institute Gala for the opening of the exhibition "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy." It was A-list all the way.  We found our invitation buried under some magazines on the coffee table, but all the gay drama on Gossip Girl was way better. [WWD]

Though guaranteed to remain Project Runway's sponsor through season five (which premieres this summer), is ELLE in danger of being dethroned by Marie Claire in season six?  After all, Nina Garcia was spotted leaving the Hearts building—which owns MC—last week.[The Cut]

We were all admittedly nervous when we heard Agnyess Deyn was set to make her debut in the music industry with a collaboration with hipster New York band Five O'Clock Horses.  Well, their first single is out...and it's not that bad! [Perez Hilton]

After rolling out diffusion lines from Madonna, Stella McCartney and Roberto Cavalli, Donatella Versace told a crowd at The New York Times'  TimesTalk that Versace will not collaborate with H&M for their own lower-priced line.  Then she started talking about wearing leather, taking drugs and being lonely, and everyone got slightly uncomfortable. [The Cut]

Sarah Jessica Parker also gave her own, thankfully less awkward interview at the TimesTalk last Friday where she dished on, what else, the Sex and the City movie.  Our appetites (and maybe our pants) are wet. [Fashionista] -- SETH PLATTNER

More Miley Cyrus (because you love it); SJP Doing McQueen?; The Met's Costume Institue benefit; Ben Pamies (yum)

80813618 Photo: Getty Images

Still haven't heard enough about Miley Cyrus' scandalous (read: fabulous) Vanity Fair cover?  Neither have we, because now the upper echelon of the magazine world are weighing in.  Everyone from ELLE's Roberta Myers to GQ's Jim Nelson to former editor of VF Tina Brown (!) are giving their two cents. [The Cut]

The Sex and the City movie hits theaters in a mere 25 days, so why did SJP spend all day Saturday with Alexander McQueen for a fitting?  Is she prepping for her big premiere?  Or maybe she's being outfitted for tonight's Met gala?  In any case, we're dying to see her in one of his Victorian goth creations that came down the runway in February.  [Fashionista]

Speaking of tonight's Costume Institute Ball at NYC's Metropoliltan Museum of Art, our favorite designers are dragging along their favorite celebrity muses to tonight's event, each one dressed to the nines like the label whoring mannequins that we've come to expect.  Among others, Chanel will have Kate Bosworth, Thandie Newton and Audrey Tautou in tow, and Peter Som is attending with Maggie Gyllenhaal. We, on the other hand, will have Ben and Jerry. [WWD]

Let's be honest, male models are the real driving force of the fashion world.  Ben Pamies is leading the way... [Queerty]

Hedi Slimane Designing for Diesel? GAP Artist Editions! Nicole Farhi Robbed! Tom Ford Does Opera!

Ever since Hedi Slimane left the helm of Dior Homme, rumors have been flying about his next big foray into fashion. Will he return to LVMH? Is he launching his own line? Is Hedi Slimane (who was spotted in Soho last weekend by your Stylelist) collaborating with Diesel? WWD reports today that Diesel rumors might be closer to reality than good old fashioned gossip. Today's issue says, "Diesel may be preparing to launch a Red Collection to be designed by Slimane." [WWD, British Vogue]

On May 13th, the GAP will roll out it's Artist Editions T-Shirts designed by contemporary artists like Chuck Close, Jeff Koons, Marilyn Minter, Kiki Smith, Cai Guo-Qiang, Barbara Kruger, Ashley Bickerton, Kenny Scharf, Glenn Ligon, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Kerry James Marshall, Hanna Liden and Sarah Sze. Is Coach planning to purchase iconic British fashion brand Burberry? Wall Street is aflutter with speculation. [Bloomberg]

Take a peek inside Prada HQ. They even have a gigantic slide by German artist Carsten Höller in the courtyard Local lore says that Miuccia Prada herself likes to slide down the installation when inspiration strikes. How can you not love her? [FT]

The face of Burberry and model of the moment Agyness Deyn is trying her hand at being a rock star. She lent her vocal stylings to a track by Five O'Clock Heroes. The model/rockstar crossovers haven't gone well in years past and lucky for us, NY Mag has a roundup of model singers past. [The Cut]

Lanvin's Alber Elbaz is designing a line of jeans for Acne. But don't expect them to be in Acne's usual price range—they will sell at the same price points as Lanvin's ready to wear items. I hope they make some jeans for guys this time! [FWD]

What would you wear if you were a superhero? Don't wear royal blue if you're blonde, says Michael Kors. [NYDN]

Armani to Receive Legion of Honor? Koolhaas to Design Prada Museum! Bloomingdales Prepares for Strike! Lonon Exhibit Ties Architecture and Fashion! Seven Influential American Designers! Vuitton Sues Charity Effort for Copyright Infringement!

Rumor has it that Giorgio Armani might receive France's prestigious Legion of Honor from President Sarkozy.  [FWD]

Architect Rem Koolhaas will design Miuccia Prada's contemporary art museum in Milan, confirming earlier rumors. Koolhaas has also designed the awesome Prada flagship store in Soho. [NYDN]

Bloomingdale's on 57th Street is preparing for the worst by "activating" a contingency plan to ensure that the store remains open if workers decide to strike. It all sounds so ominous! [FWD]

An exhibit in London explores the parallels between fashion and architecture over the last 25 years. What came first? [IHT]

The WSJ names Proenza Schouler (pictured), Derek Lam, Phillip Lim, Tuleh, Rodarte, Zac Posen, and Peter Som the seven emerging American designers who are putting American fashion back on the map. Too bad they don't make menswear. [WSJ]

Louis Vuitton is suing an artist for $22,000/day for selling a painting of a child in Darfur holding a tiny dog and a Vuitton-esque purse. The kicker? All the proceeds from her sales benefit victims in Darfur. Protecting ones copyright is thing, but this might be a little much. [Fashionista]

Heatherette Calling it Quits?

80328819

Photos: Getty Images

The New York Daily News is reporting that downtown fashion label Heatherette, the glittery hot-tranny-mess lovechild of Richie Rich and Traver Rains, has thrown in the bedazzled towel. According to the story, Rich and Rains have gone separate ways.

Rich, who has reportedly started a solo line called "Rox and Riley" after his dogs, allegedly wants to move to LA to pursue music and television opportunities while writing a book about club kids (a la Party Monster). A source told the Daily News that Rains "can't deal with Richie anymore."

While Heatherette experienced a bit of a financial hiccup at the beginning of the year and pulled out of Fashion Week, things appeared back on track with the launch of their makeup collection in collaboration with M.A.C Cosmetics just last month.

What is Fashion Week without the circus and stampede of trannies, celebrities and supermodels that is Heatherette's show? Say it ain't so, Richie and Traver! Comfort us and tell us this is all a bunch of lies and we won't have to live without sequins, glitter and pancake makeup!

In times of crisis like this, it's best to ask: What would Amanda Lepore do?

Home Laser Hair Removal! Missoni in Scotland and Kuwait! Sartorialist Does GAP! Presidential Shopping! 2nd Generation iPhone Rumors!

79182689 Photo: Getty Images

A laser hair removal device for use at home is on the way and promises to be very exciting. The price tag, however, is less so. I'm not sure how you'd laser your own back (sounds dangerous) so you might need someone to come over and play a different game of doctor than you're used to. [WWD]

Missoni will open its first hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland early next year, followed by a second in Kuwait. Wow, way to pick the hot, luxurious, travel destinations. We love Edinburgh (they have a bar called C.C. Blooms), and we haven't been to Kuwait (it's a little too close to Iraq for comfort), but those destinations aren't exactly Dubai or Saint-Tropez. [WWD]

Lensman Scott Schuman (pictured), a.k.a. The Sartorialist, announced that he will appear in fall ads for the GAP. How a man that well-dressed is straight is beyond me. (Did you see the story in Fantastic Man?) Come to the dark side, Scott. [Fashionista]

Which presidential candidate do your favorite mall clothiers support? Jezebel spent way too much time compiling this investigative report and we love them for it. [Jezebel]

Rumors of a 2nd generation iPhone are hitting all-time highs. A memo from UK mobile phone company 02 says that the 8GB iPhone and iPod Touch have reached "End of Life." While it sounds ominous, it just means they have sold out in the U.K. and will not be replenished. [Engadget]

OMFG. Model/Rich Girl Lydia Hearst is getting in the Gossip Girl action. She'll play a small role in an upcoming episode. Do model/actor crossovers ever go well? [Page Six]

"Which celebrity stylist, who should know better, has been blabbing in L.A. that a particular designer has tumbled off the wagon - again?" Juicy! Wouldn't you like to know? Post a comment with your guess! [NYDN]

Phone-throwing, alleged-spit-hurling supermodel Naomi Campbell (pictured left with YSL's Stefano Pilati) apologized to police offers at London's Heathrow airport for throwing a tantrum that led to her arrest. Can you say PR stunt? She'll be back to her tantrum-prone ways in no time. [NYDN]

At least it won't be televised as a reality show. [British Vogue]

Are 50s Rockabilly fashions back in style in London? I thought the swing dancing and poodle skirts made their comeback about ten years ago. I guess we'll start seeing the greaser look stateside in about six months. [Independent via The Cut]

Calvin Klein is heading East...to the Middle East, that is.. to showcase collections and debut a new beauty line in Dubai. Since the U.S. economy sucks, why not hit up the oil-rich Emirates for some cold hard cash? [FWD]

The Pope is here! The Pope is here! There's a whole etiquette to addressing the Pope and New York has some soul-saving etiquette tips. Celebrities offer up some entertaining ideas for what the Pope should do during his stay in NYC. Carson Kressley's idea? Go shopping at Prada and the megadiscount store Century 21. Marilyn Manson paramour Evan Rachel Wood wins for best response! [NY Mag]

The Village Voice takes a visit to the Louis Vuitton pop-up shop at the Brooklyn Museum and ends up buying an Hermes bag on Canal St. Have we learned nothing from LV's anti-counterfeiting hoopla and mock-Canal St. theatrics? Apparently not, but good luck getting a Vuitton in Chinatown. [Village Voice]

Versace is in a new seat of power in Italy. Santo Versace has won a seat in the Italian Parliament and rumors say that the new Prime Minister could tap him to be a member of his cabinet. Project Runway Says Bravo is Out; Lifetime is In.

79643531

When Project Runway's fifth season kicks off in November, it won't be found on it's usual slot on Bravo on Wednesdays at 10pm. Instead, E! reports that viewers will have to program their TiVo's to Lifetime—the channel where women and gay men get their fix for Will & Grace reruns and countless dramas starring Sally Field.

In retaliation for the divorce, Bravo filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Company, which produces the show. After all, Project Runway was the channel's most-popular program that launched a handful of similar programs that followed a similar format.

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn will still star in the show but Michael Kors and Nina Garcia are still negotiating their contracts with their new employer.

Project Runway has more drama than a hot tranny mess!
